What cookies and similar technologies are
A cookie is a small text record that a website or service can place in a browser and receive with later requests. Cookies can remember a setting, maintain a session, support security, measure traffic, personalize content, or enable advertising. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, indexed databases, pixels, tags, device identifiers, and scripts that access or store information on a device. The legal rules can apply to the purpose and behavior, not only to a file literally named a cookie.
Chanjify’s current approach
The current Chanjify application does not intentionally set first-party analytics, advertising, retargeting, affiliate-tracking, account-login, shopping-cart, or personalization cookies. There is no Chanjify account system, and the site does not use a cookie to create a personal conversion history. Core search, navigation, guides, and file tools do not require you to accept a Chanjify marketing cookie.
This is a description of the implementation as of the date above, not a promise that web technology will never change. Hosting, security, or network providers may apply strictly necessary techniques at the infrastructure layer to deliver or defend the site. If Chanjify intentionally adds a new non-essential storage purpose, this inventory and any required choice mechanism should be updated before that purpose is used.
The googtrans language preference
Chanjify’s language menu uses Google Translate. When you choose a non-English language, the translation widget creates a cookie named googtrans. Its value identifies the source and selected language, for example /en/fr for English to French. Its purpose is functional: it tells the translation widget which language to apply to the visible website. It is not created by Chanjify to build an advertising profile.
English is the intended default whenever the website loads. During client initialization, Chanjify clears the accessible googtrans preference for the current host so a fresh load returns to English. The cookie may therefore be short-lived in ordinary use, but browser behavior, Google-controlled code, privacy extensions, cached pages, subdomain rules, or blocked scripts can affect exactly when it appears or disappears. You can always remove it through your browser settings.
Google Translate network requests
The translation script and related styles or language resources are provided from Google-controlled domains. Those requests occur in the browser and can reveal standard network information to Google, including an IP address, browser and device information, the date and time, and the referring URL. Google may use cookies or similar technologies according to its own service design and Privacy Policy. Chanjify cannot read or control every identifier associated with a Google account, browser, extension, or Google-owned domain.
If you do not want the translation service to contact Google, you can remain on the English version and block Google Translate resources using browser privacy controls, content-blocking software, DNS filtering, or an organizational network policy. Blocking those resources should prevent automatic translation but may also leave the language control unavailable. The underlying English content and Chanjify file tools remain separate from the translation provider.
No embedded Facebook or YouTube feed
The footer contains icon links to Chanjify pages on Facebook and YouTube. They are plain links rather than embedded videos, social widgets, “like” buttons, or feed scripts. Seeing the icons does not by itself cause the Chanjify page to load Facebook or YouTube tracking code. If you click an icon, your browser leaves Chanjify and requests the chosen platform, where that platform’s own cookies, account settings, terms, and privacy notice apply.
File tools and browser memory
Browser-local file processing uses JavaScript memory, file objects, canvas elements, temporary object URLs, and downloaded blobs to complete the requested task. Those mechanisms are not used as cross-visit tracking cookies. Refreshing or closing the page clears the visible working state, although your device may still retain the original file, the downloaded result, browser download history, a cached page, or records created by extensions and operating-system services.
First-party image and office compression routes receive a network request and return a response. They do not need a Chanjify account cookie to associate the file with a profile. Standard server and network logs are addressed in the Privacy Policy; a server log is distinct from a cookie stored in your browser even though both can involve technical request information.
How to inspect and remove storage
Most browsers let you inspect site data through privacy or developer settings. You can search for chanjify.com, localhost during local testing, or the cookie name googtrans, then remove the relevant entry. You can also delete all cookies, configure automatic deletion when the browser closes, use a private browsing window, or block third-party cookies and scripts. Menu names vary among Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari, mobile browsers, and managed devices.
Deleting all browser data can sign you out of unrelated services and remove preferences on other sites, so use domain-specific controls when possible. A private window reduces persistence on your own device but does not make network requests invisible to a website, internet provider, employer, network administrator, or third-party service.
Consequences of blocking cookies or scripts
Blocking or deleting googtrans may reset the visible site to English, prevent the chosen translation from being applied, or require you to select a language again. Blocking all JavaScript will prevent most file tools from working because conversion, validation, compression, search, upload controls, and download creation depend on application code. Blocking cookies alone should not stop the English homepage or ordinary browser-local conversion, but individual browser policies can behave differently.
Consent and preference choices
Chanjify treats language selection as an affirmative request for the functional translation feature. It does not present a preselected marketing consent or interpret continued browsing as permission for advertising cookies. If a future feature needs non-essential storage or cross-site tracking, the site should provide clear information and an appropriate choice before enabling it where required by law.
You may withdraw the translation choice by selecting English, refreshing the page, clearing the googtrans cookie, or blocking the Google resources. Because the widget is operated with third-party code, you may also need to manage Google-controlled cookies through your browser or Google privacy settings.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Browsers may send Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals. Chanjify does not currently sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising and does not run a Chanjify advertising-cookie system, so there is no sale or targeted-ad setting to switch off on this site. External providers remain responsible for how they recognize applicable browser signals on their own domains.
Changes to this inventory
We may update this policy if the translator, hosting setup, security layer, analytics practice, social integration, account features, or browser storage changes. The “Last updated” date identifies the version. A material new cookie category should be described by name or function, provider, purpose, and practical duration where that information is available.
